The Fontaine Group is comprised, among others, by Fontaine S.A, a company founded twenty-five years ago by Norbert Fontaine, who traveled from Belgium to America, never returning to Europe after being lured by the beauties, and opportunities of our continent. Mr. Fontaine was raised in a culture of humility, service, human values, and parts of those same values are the basic operative principles of all the companies and registered trademarks the Fontaine Group represents. Norbert Fontaine passed away March 10, 2000.

Chantal Fontaine, daughter of Mr. Fontaine was born on October 11, 1959, in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Her education focused on photography in Costa Rica, Mexico, Brazil, and Cuba; also stressing the education of values, after nine years of receiving intensive training in India. With 28 years of professional practice, she has established herself as a permanent symbol in Ecuador, through her recognized trademark, which carries her very own name, being recognized as the most prestigious trademark in relation with photography and art in Ecuador, and one of the most recognized in artistic photography in the world.

Chantal Fontaine directs the main photographic studio in Ecuador, where you can imagine and experiment everything through art; she also directs a television production company specialized in different areas, a modeling agency, educational institutions for teenagers, and many other fields in which she utilizes her skills.

Chantal Fontaine is the promoter of the Instituto Tecnologico Latinoamericano de Expresiones Artisticas (I.E.X.A), the Latin American Technical Institute of Artistic Expressions, consisting of a professional team of first-class educators, transmitting academic excellence, with state of the art facilities. Accomplishing goals is part of her mission. Forming creative human beings committed to serving values in careers of success, is part of her vision, all with an objective briefly put in two words: Human Excellence.

In search of a fair price for thousands of producers with the potential to produce a specialty coffee in the tropical zones of the world, the name of Escoffee S.A. is born, which has as its main goal: to produce the best quality of coffee in the world, in harmony with our ecological environment.

Carefully cultivated at more than 1,200 meters of altitude, our coffee is produced in our steep mountains, under the gentle shadow of our native trees, in which thousands of bird species inhabit. Our methods of post cultivation preserve the natural habitat, and the diversity of our flora and fauna.

Escoffee commercializes absolutely the finest Arabica SHB coffee (Strictly Hard Bean), dried under the sun, and carefully turn over to the hands of our expert toasters, who convert it into an incomparable cup of coffee, highlighting its intense and exquisite aroma, bold acid taste, unique body, and balanced flavors, between floral and a light taste of chocolate, surprisingly good, for which our coffee is recognized internationally.

Being a contributor in a positive manner in all communities and the environment with which we are involved, our group directs the REDEHAVU Foundation, whose main objective is to rescue and develop human values in the communities where we interact.
